Canada can fight dirty money entering the country by creating world-class, publicly accessible beneficial ownership registries for companies and real property. Because organized crime exploits legal loopholes that allow secrecy, publicly accessible and searchable registries deter those who aim to launder money and avoid taxes anonymously.
Let’s make sure Canada is no longer a destination for snow-washing.
